The Center Point Comprehensive Plan included a careful analysis of opportunities for the town to provide future pedestrian and bicycle connections, while offering residents areas for recreational activities, gatherings and open green spaces. The historical land of Reed Harvey Park offered an opportunity to provide residents with several walking trails that connected, via street sidewalks, to Civitan Park to the north, and a site owned by the Land Trust to the south . It was recommended that this land, with its connection to the Five Mile Creek Greenway be designed as a recreation park of trails and open spaces.
